1. I Love Paris too!

I got back late last night from a buying trip to Paris. Eurostar was great – as per usual. Staying in the Gare du Nord area, not so great. I should have been suspicious that the hotel was so reasonable but being in a rush I didn’t do my homework properly. Nothing wrong with the hotel, just the area. Put it this way, I felt I was missing something and then realised what it was - pepper spray!

Apart from the dodgy area the rest of the trip was great. I met some fantastic new designers and companies. Expect lots of great stuff soon including a shower curtain that has an illustration that’s white when it’s dry but colours up when it’s wet. How clever is that? And strangely although I found them in Paris they are designed and made in the UK. They’re be available in the shop and on the site at the beginning of May hopefully.

I also spent a good few hours wandering around Montmatre which is my favourite place in Paris. I love the little lanes and the boutiquey shops. I found a shop that I absolutely feel in love with called Pylones (7 Rue Tardieu, 75018 Paris). The explosion of colour was incredible and all the quirky stuff was right up my street. Great for small gifts. To my delight I’ve just looked them up and there are some shops in the UK – you can see the list at www.pylones.com
